About Me

Hi there, my real name is Jiang Rui, a young online marketing professional works near London as an E-Marketing Consultant. You may notice that I have different profile names, such as Frank Rui Jiang or Frank Johnray, this is because we have to get an English name while in secondary school, so I picked Frank as it stands for honest and straightforward, I prefer treating people this way. By the way, “Jiang Rui” pronounces as “John Ray”, and you can call me Frank.

I finished my high school in China and entered the UK for further education since 2004. I spent one year in Higher Education Foundation Program in University of Warwick studying studying IT and Engineering. Then I went into University of Nottingham for Electrical and Electronic Engineering, it took me more than one year to realise it was not what I wanted to study, but it was too late. After 3 years in EEE, I joined a manufacturing company and I had my first step into Search Engine Marketing – I was assigned to deal with Google Adwords.

Since then, I realised this is exactly the career I want, a combination of internet technology and marketing. I gave up the job in manufacturing and applied a new media agency called 77agency for further training. It has the business all over the Europe and it also has an office in New York. They provided comprehensive training courses which covered Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Social Network and Affiliate Marketing. I would like to thank them very much for leading me into this industry and let me assist real projects such as Foxy Bingo (the biggest online bingo company) and Halifax (banking).

Now I am working in Hertfordshire, only 40mins away from London by the train. I am currently handling the project for Luminar (has 75+ nightclub venues) and other small and medium projects for other companies.

OK, it’s time to talk something not about work.

I don’t smoke, cannot drink too much (lol, 2 pints is maximum I guess).
I love sports such as basketball and swimming, I go for gym 3-4 times a week after work.
I can cook, yes I mean it, I cooked for myself for 5 years now.
I like reading stuff, especially anything related to the cutting-edge technology and internet. But my favorite book is <Winning> by Jack Welch and it’s not about technology and internet.
My idol, I did not really have any idol until I found out Warren Buffett and I have the same birthday…… then he became the one.
I have many dreams, if I have to list them here, it’s gonna be an essay. So just take one example, I’d dream to live near a beautiful beach and enjoy the view every single day.
My favorite food, Chinese food, no other options. And I kinda feel sorry for British people, because they only have “fish and chips”…..
My favorite blog, SEOmoz and SmashingMagazine, cannot live without them. They are must-read.
